HISTORY
Amigo Tools and
Fasteners Inc. was founded by James Brown in 2005.
Mr. Brown started
working construction when he was fourteen years old, for his uncle
in Pennsylvania. He gained first hand knowledge of tools and how
they are used in the field. He worked as a tool repair person for a
company in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1996 until 2000. He did
repairs, inside sales, warehousing, purchasing, and operational
duties, where he ended up as manager of the company. He was then
hired by a competitor in Durham, North Carolina, where he worked
until he started his own tool store in 2002 named J & W Tools
Incorporated. He and his partner William were the first store in the
area to be open for the customer on Saturdays. It was here, that Mr.
Brown learned about true partnership. He was fortunate enough to
have a good partner that complimented his abilities. Mr. Brown sold
his share of J & W Tools Inc. in 2006.
In 2005, Amigo
tools and fasteners were only being sold in a handful of states. As
other tool companies decreased the price in their tools by
compromising on the quality of the parts, Amigo Tools and Fasteners
kept their quality high and gained market share. One example of this
is our steel magazine on our Amigo is heat treated for durability
while other companies have stopped this process to save a few
dollars. Time and time again, all we had to do is make a quality
tool at a fair price and put it in the customers hand for them to
decide. As demand and brand recognition grew, Amigo Tools and
Fasteners later chose distributors to sell their products to dealers
in other states and countries. Amigo Tools and Fasteners deliver
quality products at competitive prices.
Amigo Tools are
sold in thirty seven states and three countries.
